Metabolic Engineering with RNA-Interference: Improving protein production in the baculovirus system

Objective
Increase protein production in the insect cell-baculovirus system.

Methods
Synthesize dsRNA in vitro to knockdown host cell genes. Assess gene knockdown using RT-PCR.

Results
Several promising host gene targets have been identified. dsRNA has been synthesized for these targets.

Future Work
Use in vitro and in vivo RNAi to knockdown host genes and measure protein production.
