CAST 10b would like to propose approximately four or five invited sessions
on focused topics not typically covered in the contributed sessions for the
2007 American Control Conference. The 2007 ACC will take place on June 11
to 13, 2007 in New York, NY. Additional information on this ACC can be
found at:
http://www.a2c2.org/conferences/acc2007/
Individuals interested in preparing an idea for an invited session should
submit a session proposal to the 2007 area 10b programming chairman -
Robert E. Young - before JULY 19, 2006.
A completed invited session proposal consists of a summary statement and
six full papers submitted by invitation of the session organizer. While the
session should possess a unifying theme, a reasonable diversity of
viewpoints is strongly encouraged. The summary statement describes the
motivation and relevance of the proposed session.
To coordinate the CAST 10b proposals, I would like to collect session
proposal ideas (title, summary statement and chair/co-chair organizers and
list of possible contributors) from the CAST community. To date, I have
received the following suggestions for sessions but without summaries or
organizers that have agreed to organize the session:
Analysis and Control of Biological Systems
Control of Population Balance Systems
Control of Microchemical Systems
Nonlinear Process Control
If you are interested in organizing an invited session for one of these
topics or a different topic, please provide me with proposal information
before JULY 19, 2006. I will post a list of the selected sessions and
contact the organizers shortly after that date.
For the final invited session proposal, a full manuscript of the invited
papers must also be submitted (ACC
now automatically rejects invited session proposals that contain only
extended
abstracts. The invited paper manuscripts should conform to the same
standards as the regular contributed conference papers (two-column
proceedings format limited to eight pages). Manuscripts not following this
format may be declined without review. Proposals must be submitted
electronically through the conference web site. Questions may be addressed
to Richard Braatz, Vice Chair for Invited Sessions,
Email: braatz@uiuc.edu.
The deadline for the final submissions is September 15, 2006.
The normal procedure for the final submission of an invited session is as
follows:
1. The session organizer invites authors and collects the contributing
author (CA) name, contact information, PIN, and paper title for each paper.
2. The session organizer submits the session data on-line and receives a
session ID for the session and paper ID's for each invited paper.
3. The organizer notifies each contributing author of their paper ID.
4. The organizer submits the session proposal e-manuscript on-line without
the component papers prior to September 15, 2005.
5. The CA of each paper submits the paper data and e-manuscript on-line
prior to September 15, 2005.
Please note that the submission process is completely electronic. At the
discretion of the Technical Program Committee, individual papers may be
removed from proposed invited sessions and replaced by an appropriate
contributed paper. Likewise, selected papers from rejected invited session
proposals may be placed into the regular program.
