Process Development Specialist

There are multiple immediate openings for Process Development Specialists in our Process Technology and Equipment Business. These positions play a key role in UOP's research and development process. Process Development Specialists are involved in reaction engineering, modeling of reaction kinetics, modeling of physical processes, equipment design, process synthesis and process optimization.
Key accountabilities include:
* Working on research, product development, field-testing and applications support;
* Play key role in developing new technologies and leveraging existing technologies to maximize value for our client's assets;
* Evaluate existing products to reduce cost and improve quality and performance;
* Collaborating with multidisciplinary technical groups and exhibiting strong teamwork and communication skills;
* Lead and participate in forums, seminars and engineering networks;
* Provide technical guidance to other engineers;
* Perform other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
Basic Qualifications
* A PhD in Chemical Engineering;
* A minimum of 3 years specialization in process design, process operations, modeling, optimization, separations or reaction engineering (including graduate studies).
Additional Qualifications
* Strong interest in R&D work, self-starting and demonstrated leadership aptitude is important.
* Demonstrated organization skills;
* Ability to work independently;
* Willingness to travel (less than 10% of time).
Additional skills desired:
* Simulation and modeling skills;
* Computer programming/development/tools/component skills related to Fortran, C++, VB, MATLAB, HTML, XML, SQL, etc.
