To AIChE National Capital Section Members:

For the past year, our section has been cooperating with the Department of
Agriculture's Extension Service 4-H program in a Montgomery County middle
school ( 12 to 14 year olds). Four of us have been involved with an
after-school program about recycling solid waste in Montgomery County. We've
done this for two semesters and the school system and 4-H have encouraged us
to not only contine the program, but to expand it. We've also had
encouragement from AIChE National to expand to program as well as from some
of the youngsters we've touched and their parents -- a very good feeling!

To do this, we need some more volunteers. We are looking for members who
live in Montgomery County, probably are retired, and are interested in
    learning more about this activity.

We have a developed curriculum, will provide orientation, and your time
committment will be for about 2 hours a week for up to 12 weeks. The
Montgomery County 4-H Office, located in Derwood, has offered to provide an
    orientation for those interested.

Please send me an E-mail reply if you would like to learn more about this
activity or call me at 301-320-5509.

    Dave Richman
